MUSIC VIDEO · BABYLON GATE FILMS Déjà vu — Frank Rubaie Award-Winning Flamenco Music Video · Dubai “Déjà vu” is a music video performed by Frank Rubaie, a classical guitarist from Canada specializing in flamenco guitar. The music piece was recorded and produced by Babylon Gate Films together with its musical arrangements. After completing the audio production in-house, Firas Sameer developed a storyboard around the music’s theme and title, then built the visual concept around the ideal dancer, locations and production crew. The video was shot across three locations in Dubai — one outdoor location and two indoor sets — and completed in a single shooting day. Professional flamenco dancer, teacher, model and choreographer Yuliya Baykova collaborated on the choreography. Three rehearsal sessions were held to refine the synchronized performance between Frank and Yuliya. Awards & Official Selections The Déjà vu music video won the Best Dance Video Award at the Consonance Music Film Festival — Hollywood, USA 2018. The video was also officially selected by several international festivals, including the Jersey Shore Film Festival and CaribbeanLens International Film Festival. They make several types of delicious chocolate sweets using fresh strawberries—I tasted their sweets myself and they are unbelievably tasty. I might do other ads for them as they have different combinations of their products. The ad was shot at a high frame rate of 180 fps for a smooth slow-motion effect.
